Meet Our Board
The Enfield Village Association Board is a working board comprised of volunteers from within our community dedicated to "keeping the good things happening" in our beautiful and charming town. Each of the members brings their own unique skillset and passion to the board giving us an effective team of "doers".

President
Julie Eckert
Initially raised in a small New England town, with a fierce sense of the importance for supporting "local". I am a Mover (not a Shaker) having lived in 17 different states and visited every single one. I have witnessed good planning and not so good ideas. After years of volunteer work and part time jobs while raising a family, with a whole lot of event planning, I returned to school for a Master's in Public Administration. Economic Development to me means building a healthy and inclusive community for residents and businesses now and for the future. It is not a "my job" but " our job" to build a sustainable community.

Treasurer, 2019 - Present
Maynard Southard
Always a hands-on guy, Maynard and a buddy bought a small run-down 100 year-old metal stamping company in western Massachusetts in 1997. A summer cabin on Crystal Lake was a getaway for his family during many of those hard working years. Maynard and Betsy made the full-time move to Enfield in 2014, after Betsy retired and the kids finished college. After 23 years of managing all aspects of a small manufacturing business, he and his partner sold the company in 2019. Maynard coached youth basketball for 10 years and is a regular at the scorer’s table for Mascoma & Hanover High and Dartmouth College basketball games. He’s been active in town, serving on the Enfield Municipal Facilities Advisory Committee and the Enfield Master Planning Task Force, in addition to serving as Treasurer of the Enfield Village Association since 2019.

Alice Kennedy
Alice came to Enfield in 2018, by way of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, Kentucky, and Ireland. She, and rotating cast of cats, have put down permanent (?) roots on Main Street in the heart of Enfield Village. She is a full-time Health Services Researcher at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy &; Clinical Practice and a part-time Ph.D. student at Jönköping Academy for the Improvement of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University, Sweden.
Alice brings a love of Public Health and community empowerment to her role on the Board, as well as some mean project management skills and a can-do attitude. She spent two years as Town Secretary to learn the ropes of Enfield’s new-to-her style of government and loves any activities that bring the town outside together such as the Shaker 7 race, the Enfield Market, and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Alice is always enthusiastic to talk about ways to foster a growing and inclusive sense of community in Enfield to support each other’s physical, mental, emotional, and financial health.
